How Dogs Keep Humans Happy and Healthy

The winters in the Northeast can be harsh, leaving us with limited time outside to get our exercise in.

Our walks are fewer due to the all the salt on the roads and the harm they can do to our paws.

Luckily, we have a nice fenced in backyard where we get to romp in the snow and burn off some calories and pent up energy...

Don't forget to get your peeps involved!

Did you know that humans can burn up to 214 calories per hour making Snow Angels?
Love a good snowball fight?
They can burn up to 319 calories per hour, if they last that long that is...

See, our peeps aren't all that bright.

They think they are doing us good by taking us out and letting us burn some extra calories to keep us healthy and happy.

But what really is happening is, we are putting them through a good workout right along with us both physically and mentally!! BOL!

How do you keep your humans in shape during the winter?!

We are joining the FitDog Friday blog hop brought to you by SlimDoggy and co-hosts To Dog with Love and GBGV Life.

  3. Lucky you. Having such a great yard to play in must make not walking no real bother. Have a fabulous Friday.

  4. So true, so true! Since I live in Florida, I am sure to take Ma and Daddy-dog on LONG walks in the winter....longer than when it is so hot and humid outside. I am sure they get lots of exercise so they don't get f-a-t! Happy Friday!

  6. Oh, that looks like so much fun! We rarely get snow in Atlanta, but that does make wintertime a great time to go on longer walks and hikes when it isn't so hot! Stay warm!

  7. I'm howling imagining Mom making snow angels for an hour! Interesting calorie burn info. We hike, run, play, do all that normal stuff in the snow and love it. Everyone burns more calories in the cold to stay warm too ;) Thanks for joining the hop with a fun post!

  9. Mr. N is also very good at that! Last time it snowed, we played outside for two hours and my muscles were so sore the day after!

  12. Great photos!! We keep our humans in shape with daily walks. I suggested that Mom get a better pair of mittens and boots because I pretty much demand a walk and 20 frisbee throws!
