Homemade Valentine Dog Treats

We are back in the kitchen today whipping up some homemade Valentine dog treats.

These are my favorite treats to make for the Goldens, they are so easy and quick, no baking required and all you need are just a few ingredients.

Homemade Valentine Dog Treats

Ingredients: 1 cup strawberries, 1 banana, 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt

I love how versatile this recipe is, you can use any dog-friendly fruit you have on hand.

Strawberries are a great source of fiber and antioxidants, bananas contain potassium and the plain greek yogurt is good for your dog's digestion, if they can handle a little bit of dairy.

These little hearts are like a super nutrient-packed smoothie, perfect for your furry Valentine!

To bump up the nutrition even more, you could also add some coconut oil.

As with all treats, everything in moderation. Too much of a good thing could upset your dog's belly and no one wants a belly-aching Valentine! ;)

Do you plan on making any treats for your furry Valentine?

  3. Oh my! Are you sure these are just for the dogs? Edie would go crazy over the bananas, but I think I may have a little taste as well! Great Valentine's treat recipe.

  5. Yum! These treats are the things I love: simple, healthy, and fun! Thanks for posting. We made a birthday cake for Yoda but I think these treats may need to happen for the pups sometime soon as well! I might add some blueberry (not blended) after the treats are poured in the mold, just to be crazy!

  9. These are a great idea. I like that they are nutritious and simple. One of my cats loves cantaloupe, so I might have to try a mini batch to see how they go over.

  15. I saw this post on pintrest. Cute hearts, though my dog won't touch anything fruit-like. (He's very picky) but I love the idea of Valentines Dog treats - wish I had thought of it! Maybe I'll fill one of those heart shaped (former) chocolate boxes with some dog treats.

  19. OMgoodness that looks easy and good. I am not the world's greatest cook, I admit, but I am thinking since no oven is involved, I can do this.
