I had some dog crates donated to me for use in rescue transport, but the doors had rust on them and I searched on-line to see if I could find a safe way to remove the rust and save me having to buy replacement doors. I came across a suggestion to use vinegar, and it was amazing in how well it took the rust off. Since I didn't coat the cleaned metal doors, the rust does come back over time, but I just use vinegar (mixed with equal amount of water and using a plastic brush) to remove any new rust. It's a very budget-friendly, environmentally-friendly, and pet-friendly way of removing rust from items your dog might lick or chew on.

Great article! Thanks for the reminder that I need to get a fresh gallon of vinegar. (My husband used the one I had to remove excess grout from the tiles he just put up in our bathroom.)

WE see MANY are singing the praises of VINEGAR.... our mom uses it fur EVERYTHINGY... She even puts some in a BOWL and sets it our... an NATURAL Room Deodorizer.
She uses a TINY bit of THAT with a LOT of Water to wash our WINDOWS.... and she uses DON ASLETTE Microfiber cloths to Wash and DRY THEM TO A SHARP...NO STREAK SHINE... NO Paper Towels fur HER. We TRY to be good to our world.

Hi Y'all!

Those are great suggestions. My Human has used vinegar for cleaning for years. Woodland hikes or waterside hikes are my favorites!

Great tips for going Green! Ma always uses vinegar when she is washing my towels and bedding. She says it takes my "stink" right out! I don't know what she is talking about.
