Mischief Playdate Gone Bad

A few days ago Maggie and I decided to have some fun and have a playdate with an unsuspecting woodchuck...

After all, he did wander into OUR yard and looked just like one of our stuffies!!

We decided we were going to tag team him.

I'll play with him for a bit and then give Maggie a chance, and then maybe end with a tug-o-war as we always do.

Good idea right?!

Yeah, so we thought until Maggie decided to "shake 'em up" as she likes to do with her stuffies.

Only this time the "stuffie" fought back and fought back hard!!! We don't ever remember them having sharp teeth and claws!

Well, to spare you the gruesome details and images, the backyard looked like a crime scene.

Mom totally panicked when she heard all the commotion and saw all the blood.

Before we knew it our heads were wrapped in towels and we were off to the vets.

The vet said we were really lucky.

That little scoundrel did a number in my mouth but no stitches were needed.

Just another round of rabies shots and some antibiotics.

Maggie's bite marks are already healing...

Mom asked if we've learned our lesson.

Of course we have.

Never trust a wandering stuffie!!!

  1. OmD....Those things are vicious! Glad you're ok!

  2. Oh boy... those wandering stuffies really toy with the Lapdogs here. They seem to know just how far their reach is, and stay just outside. Although, last year Lola met up with a baby stuffie and while we're unsure if she caused baby's demise or not, we found her trying to lick the stuffie back to life........ oy.

  3. Oh, no! I'm glad you're going to be okay! Those wandering stuffies are tricky things.

  4. Stuffies with teeth a scary concept. So far we seem to scare off the fuzzies before we can reach them.

  5. Sounds like a good lesson to learn! Mr. N had a snake stuffy that we gave away because his former foster suggested that it might not be good for him to learn that snakes were playthings.

  6. Wandering stuffie - BOL. But seriously we are so glad you are going to be OK. Mom always worries about those dumb possums who somehow get in our yard. They have nasty teeth too.

    Take care.

Woos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning

  7. Oh no! Thank goodness you two are ok (other than having your pride crushed by a wandering stuffie).

  8. OH No!!! We sometimes get gophers in our big yard. They have scary long yellow teeth and long nails. Glad you are OK

  9. OH NOES!!!! Oh dear! Ma's heart skipped a beat cause, well, this is TOTALLY somethin' that would happen to me. I am SO glads you guys are okay!! Crap. Note to self: don't shake a stuffie outside that I didn't put there....

  10. I guess those little woodchucks only like to predict the weather and not play! :-) Really glad you all are okay!!!!

  11. I completely understand why you thought it was your stuffie ... they really do look alike. It sounds like you gave your Mom quite the scare! Glad everyone is going to be OK and you learned your lesson about the wandering stuffies.

  12. SO glad that you are ok!!! We have those groundhog dudes living in our backyard and it makes me SO nervous!! Very glad that the wandering stuffie encounter ended up ok! It is a very good thing that you are big dogs!! Hope you are feeling ok!!
