Dog in Search of His Nose

Hello out there. It's me, Bruin. I have a favor to ask you...
dog with cute eyes
You see, I've lost something and I need help finding it.

It's black.

It's cute as a button. (according to mom)

It's my nose and it has mysteriously disappeared.

This is what it used to look like...
close of of dogs nose laying in grass
I've had it since I was a little pup...

And now it's gone...
dog with tongue hanging out
Miley says that's what I get for sticking my nose where it doesn't belong...
two dogs staring at each other
Mom says I probably lost it in the snow somewhere, but I can't seem to find it...

If you happen to come across it can you please send it back to me?

Thanks!

  1. Yep, you got snow nose alright! We first noticed it with the beagle I got when I was 10 and since we live in Winterpeg, Manisnowba we get lots of snow and cold! I have had 6 dogs since and all of them lose their nose pigment each winter. Chester is a chocolate lab with liver features so it is not as prominent as it is on a black nose.

  7. Isn't it funny how some of their noses change so drastically in color? I expect that with fur, but... Cute pics!

  8. If that's snow nose, you just might find it when the snow melts! I don't know exactly how that works....I have to remember to watch Sheba's this year to see if it turns back to black or not.

  12. LOL! That's so funny because that is what happened to our Chance! Black nose since birth and then at about 3 or 4 years old, it turned pink. Is this what a snow nose is???

    1. Chance's nose never turned back. It's still pink.

  16. Wow! I have never heard of snow nose or seen it in any of the (many) pups I know! How interesting!!

  17. Lightning lost his too and so did Dakota. Phantom is the only Sibe we have had who has kept a black nose. Maybe you could try using a black magic marker:)

  18. We've been wondering the same thing at our house -- It must be a crime wave! Someone needs to sniff out the thief, and bring those cute "coal noses' back! :o)

  19. That looks just like MY nose! It's pink on the end too! It's been like that my whole life, though.

  20. Eegad snow nose! I've encountered pink nosies before but never knew it had anything to do with the snow. We have one black nose, one pink nose in this house but they've always been that way :)

I could look at those happy pictures all day--so sweet!

  21. Cute pics. And such a cute black nose! My sister's dog's nose went from black to pink - but we don't have snow here, so it definitely wasn't "snow nose." Is that really a thing? I never heard of that.
